For people new to the community, you can join my eList HERE to be kept in the loop. I usually send out the OCTOBER Monthly Missive during the first week of each month, but if/when things come up in-between, you may get the occasional additional email but that is rare.
October activates some very deep, soul-level, personal processing! July-Sept had a lot of social & collective activations that we need to process on our own individual levels now. Venus & Mercury Retrograding in the same month of October, in the same Sign of Scorpio is activating upgrades to both our values & our thinking and on a most profound level.

Venus Retrograde in Scorpio invites a deep review of your values, priorities, relationships, resources & personal power. Venus returns to the same area of the sky every 8-years, marking a larger cycle of evolution in what & who matters most to you. What was important in 2018 may no longer reflect who you have become. This is an opportunity to renegotiate your needs within relationships & professional partnerships, clarify what you truly value and release self-sabotage, illusions & outdated patterns that block your creativity or misdirect your power.
Pluto Direct in Aquarius brings the focus to collective transformation, individual freedom and how we share power & resources. This long-term cycle challenges us to rethink how we work together, contribute to our communities, use technology and create a more sustainable, life-affirming future. The opportunity is to honor each person’s unique gifts while building systems that benefit the greater good. The Shadow involves control, exploitation & allowing technology or powerful institutions to override human nature, creativity & freedom. As Pluto moves forward, the inner purification and Shadow Work of the past 5-months begin to meet your real-world, life experience. The changes you have been making in recent months (or years) may now be tested, asking you to embody your truth, channel your power in new ways and put your evolving values into practice.
Together, Venus connecting with Pluto 3-times over, brings personal & collective transformation into direct focus. October intensifies the review of relationships, finances, shared resources & the deeper power dynamics shaping our choices at this time. Encounters & exchanges may reveal hidden fears, insecurities, attachments or outdated agreements that can no longer support who you or what you want. The invitation is to activate your own Inner Compass, recognize what has changed within & around you, while also aligning your choices with your own core values & new priorities of now.
Venus will be mixing it up with others to facilitate the current review, but when she connects with the Sun, it officially activates her new 18-month cycle. You are going to review first, but then you will begin a new creative cycle, which will awaken ideas about what you want to express, create, invest in & share with the world going forward. As your values & priorities evolve, this Solar infusion helps brighten your personal magnetism and attract opportunities, relationships & collaborations that better reflect who you are becoming. This month, Venus will dip back into Libra to continue the review with a new focus on balance, reciprocity, self-worth & relationships. This is an opportunity to reassess what matters, renegotiate the terms of your closest partnerships & honestly evaluate how your choices affect both you & those around you. Libra reminds us to restore balance and establish fairness before moving to the next level in Scorpio’s lessons of karma & creation, which leads to Sag, when we will get to activate that New Story! (Which happens in the new year.)
The Sacred Feminine is resetting this year and the Sacred Masculine will reset next year so all their current interactions are part of an ongoing theme of review, change, improvement & completion of the last 2-years at a minimum. This month, Mars connects with Uranus to spark original ideas, unexpected opportunities & the courage to break free from stagnant routines, helping you recognize new pathways & take unconventional approaches to long-standing challenges. While Mars connecting with Saturn in the same month adds the stamina, patience, discipline & Inner Authority to turn those insights into tangible results. Together, these activations offer a powerful balance of liberation & structure, innovation & commitment, as well as spontaneous inspiration & strategic action. Uranus helps you envision what could be different, while Saturn helps you build something lasting with the energy that Mars brings to the table.
We also have Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio, which invites us to become the Inner Detective of our own Mental Body, investigating the beliefs, stories, fears & perceptions shaping the reality we experience. As old conversations, unresolved questions & familiar thought patterns resurface, we have an opportunity to recognize what has changed, uncover deeper truths & release mental habits that no longer serve our evolution.
Mercury will connect with Venus early in the month to help us discover a new way to articulate what matters, recognize the meaning woven through past experiences & develop fresh perspectives that bring greater beauty, harmony & authenticity into our lives. Together, these energies help us understand that transforming our reality begins with transforming how we perceive, interpret & communicate our experience. We do not need to solve or resolve everything we uncover – sometimes, seeing clearly is the first act of self-healing & integration of what we are learning.
Mercury will also connect with Mars later in the month to bring an important test: Are your thoughts, words, desires & actions aligned? When our beliefs conflict with our choices or when we suppress what our Soul is trying to express, then we often experience frustration, defensiveness, irritability or conflict. Mercury Retrograde gives us the opportunity to pause before reacting, reconsider our assumptions & identify where our Mental Body has become disconnected from our authentic desires & deeper personal needs. Working with Venus helps us clarify what we truly value & want to create, while working with Mars helps us recognize what needs to change and how to protect our energy, establish boundaries & act with intention.
We are getting some much needed personal upgrades this month so take some personal time & space whenever you can. Theoretically, we process in Virgo, make choices in Libra and anchor or release in Scorpio but now we have Venus & Mercury lingering so we should slow down and not make any binding commitments or snap decisions. Let things play out for the rest of the year and look to Jan/Feb for true clarity around what you care about, which will come just in time to review your choices & decisions with Mars and that should eventually lead to the initiation & forward movement many of us are craving at this time.
If you want more dates & details, I recommend my Power Circle Subscription for only $9.99/mo or $99/yr. It comes with tons of custom goodies to guide you week-by-week, throughout each month.
