For people new to the community, you can join my eList HERE to be kept in the loop. I usually send out the AUGUST Monthly Missive during the first week of each month, but if/when things come up in-between, you may get the occasional additional email but that is rare.
August marks the very cusp of completion & initiation of cycles large & small, which is facilitating a healing & integration of a whole new foundation. We will look back on Aug/Sept 2026 as a monumental shift on many levels. The energies this month are asking us to honor everything that we have healed, integrated & learned over the last several years while consciously preparing for an entirely new chapter. Throughout the Summer, we have been moving through waves of transformation. June shifted our values, July initiated new choices & actions, and now August supports the conscious integration of those changes. This is where the new ideas, healthier relationships, renewed priorities and a more authentic identity begin to settle into a new daily rhythm.
Much of this month’s work revolves around healing, embodiment & conscious integration. We are no longer simply discovering who we are becoming, we are learning how to live from that new level of awareness. August reminds us that real transformation doesn’t happen in one dramatic moment. It unfolds through small, consistent choices that gradually become a new way of being. The opportunities available now are less about chasing something outside yourself and more about anchoring, supporting & protecting what has already awakened within.
One of the biggest stories this month belongs to Chiron, our guide through healing, education & Soul development. Chiron represents the journey from woundedness to wisdom, reminding us that our deepest challenges often become our greatest medicine. It teaches us that healing is not about becoming perfect, it is about becoming whole. The lessons we gather through our healing journey eventually become the gifts we are able to offer others. Chiron asks us to embrace every part of ourselves, including the places that once felt broken, rejected or misunderstood.
This month, Chiron pauses at Zero Taurus and begins its annual Retrograde, eventually returning to Aries one final time before beginning an entirely new 8-year collective journey in Taurus. For the past 9-years, Chiron in Aries has asked us to heal our identity, reclaim our instincts and rediscover our courage. We have learned how to trust ourselves again, become more self-reliant & connected to our authentic Truth & Purpose. Much of that work happened quietly beneath the surface, making it difficult to recognize while we were living it. Now, as Chiron begins retracing its steps, we have an opportunity to look back and truly appreciate how much healing has already occurred.
Over the next 5-months, pay close attention to what still feels tender, as well as what no longer carries the same emotional charge. Chiron Retrograde offers an annual opportunity to slow down and conduct a personal inventory. Rather than focusing only on what still hurts, also acknowledge what has healed. Notice which old fears no longer control your choices, which patterns have dissolved & where greater resilience has quietly taken root. Healing is not measured by the absence of pain but by your expanded capacity to meet life with greater wisdom, compassion & self-awareness, also Chiron’s domain.
As Chiron prepares to enter Taurus for the next 8-years, humanity begins a completely new healing journey centered around values, self-worth, embodiment, nourishment, creativity and our relationship with the material world. Taurus asks us to examine what truly sustains us. For some, that healing involves money & security. For others, it centers around the body, food, intimacy, beauty, creativity or the ability to receive love & support without guilt or fear. We are being asked to redefine wealth, abundance & success from the inside-out. The healing of our identity now becomes the foundation for healing our relationship with value itself.
Supporting this shift, Post-Mercury Retro, we will move forward from processing our thoughts & feelings to having space & energy to tend to the new creative ideas. In August, Mercury will start out in Leo and end up in Virgo, carrying us through two very different phases of mental development. In Leo, Mercury encourages creative thinking, authentic self-expression and speaking from the heart. This is a wonderful time to explore new ideas, trust your creative instincts & communicate with greater confidence & generosity of spirit. This is especially supported now that we have come through a Mercury Reset. Then, as Mercury enters Virgo, inspiration naturally gives way to practicality. Now it becomes time to organize, refine & prioritize a daily rhythm that feeds your natural creative drives. Which ideas deserve your time & energy? Which ones are ready to become practical reality or embodied expression? Virgo reminds us that wisdom is not simply accumulated or gathered, it must be expressed & embodied through daily practice & conscious systems that support long-term growth & sustainability.
This month, the Feminine & Masculine dynamics bring changes as your new identity & purpose take hold. Venus enters her home sign of Libra, inviting us to restore balance within ourselves and our relationships. This is a beautiful opportunity to reassess your values, renegotiate important partnerships & become more conscious of how you invest your most precious resources of time, energy, money & attention or focus. Venus always reminds us that we reveal our priorities through what we consistently nurture. Before moving into the deeper waters of Scorpio later this year, Libra asks us to establish fairness, reciprocity & healthy boundaries. The more balanced your relationships become now, the easier it will be to navigate the deeper transformational work ahead.

Mars enters Cancer, shifting our actions from outward ambition toward inner alignment. Rather than pushing harder, Mars asks us to honor our emotional rhythms & strengthen our foundation. This is not the month to force progress simply because your mind believes you should. Instead, let your feelings inform your choices. Improve your home environment, strengthen your daily routines & devote extra attention to self-care. Cancer teaches us that the strongest foundations are built through consistent nourishment, not constant striving. The better you care for yourself now, the more energy you will have available when Mars enters Leo and creative momentum accelerates.
Additionally, we have extra Fire in the form of the Seasonal Shift and New Nodes & Eclipses, which is going to bring it into the personal realms. This is a rebirth kind of energy, transforming you from the inside-out. Seasonally, we also enter the Leo Gate of Power, often called the Pre-Harvest. Nature reminds us to pause & assess what has truly taken root before Harvest Season arrives. This is a sacred time of gratitude, preservation & conscious preparation. Celebrate what is thriving, deepen your commitment to what continues to nourish you & release anything that has become heavy, stagnant or outdated so it can return to the Earth as compost for future growth. Every creative vision needs a strong container before it can fully mature. We have come a long way in recent years, preparing for this very moment.
The Leo New Moon/Solar Eclipse amplifies these themes exponentially. Each year Leo asks us whether we are living authentically, but this year we also begin an entirely new Leo/Aquarius Eclipse Cycle while completing the Virgo/Pisces cycle. These overlapping Eclipses create powerful opportunities to realign with your Soul’s true direction. Reflect on previous Leo/Aquarius Eclipse years: 2018-19, 2008-09, 1998-2000 and 1989-91 – in order to recognize recurring themes around creativity, leadership, purpose & community. With Jupiter also now moving through Leo for the first time in 12-years, these new beginnings extend far beyond this month. You are not simply making adjustments, you are also stepping into a much larger cycle of authentic self-expression & conscious contribution.
Several additional allies quietly strengthen this month’s work. Ceres begins an extended stay in Cancer, helping us redefine what truly nourishes & protects us while encouraging deeper emotional well-being and healthier foundations at home. Pallas Retrograde in Aries invites us to review 5-years of personal healing, reclaim our unique wisdom & reconnect with our instinct for self-preservation. Vesta lingering in Aries initiates a sacred new cycle of devotion to your own Identity & Purpose, reminding us that caring for ourselves is not selfish but essential preparation for serving the world from a place of wholeness & fortification.
Finally, one of the most supportive activations of the year arrives as Jupiter forms a harmonious trine to Saturn on 8/31. This is where inspiration becomes tangible. Caroline Casey says that “Jupiter lays the tracks for Saturn’s reality-train to follow”. I say that Jupiter expands the possibilities & reveals the potentials and then Saturn comes behind it and says, “Now make it real or tangible”. Jupiter expands the vision while Saturn provides the structure to make it real. Dreams become achievable when your Truth, Purpose & daily choices begin moving in the same direction. Rather than rushing ahead, take time to clarify your intentions, simplify your priorities & build steady momentum. Trust Divine Timing and invest your energy in your own path rather than comparing yourself to others. August reminds us that lasting transformation is not created through dramatic leaps but through conscious, consistent choices that honor both Spirit & Reality. The healing that you have been doing has prepared you for this next chapter. Now it is time to embody it, nurture it & allow it to become the strong new foundation upon which your future will grow.
